Stone Bonded Surfacing
A semi bonded stone surface that can be laid over a variety of materials to create a natural hard wearing, maintenance free surface.
The area to be prepared is carefully cleaned and any holes filled, the area needs to be structurally sound before the bonding can take place. Any adjacent areas are masked off to prevent staining before a primer is applied to seal the existing surface and provide a key for the binder surface. The binder is then spread over the surface of the primer in an even layer. 6mm washed natural stone aggregate is then spread over the binder and raked level leaving a thin layer of chippings on the surface. Once the whole area is finished it is rolled with a non vibrating roller to bed the chippings into the binder. The complete area is walkable on straight away but must be left 12 hours before being driven on.
