Garden Design and Build - The Finished Project
This is the garden once it was finished, the plants just need to bed in and become established.
The whole area was covered in weed screen before adding the features, Neal used a mixture of different sizes of river gravel for the basis of this natural looking setting.
The Project begins
This was the garden as Neal first viewed it, very neglected and overgrown.
Neal's remit was to completely transform this area making it low maintenance and including a water feature.
Neal starts by clearing the area, removing all growth and reducing the height of the leylandii by 4ft.
The steps were very uneven and the sides were crumbling away.
The drive was cut back to make it more accessible
The next step was to rebuild the existing path and steps and face all the edgings with cobbled sets.
Neal used Indian Sandstone to fashion a circle round the existing silver birch, spring bulbs were planted within the circle to add some colour in the spring.
The remaining area was leveled before laying the weed screen.
Neal decided that this area would be perfect for the introduction of a small water feature, it was decided to build a small stream running down the slope.
The stream was built using a combination of natural stone and preformed resin base... can you spot the difference?
